Russell Motor Cars: 1909 |
In 1909 Russell
continued their four models from 1908, the Models G,
H, K, and L. A notable change for this year
was the new style radiator, replacing the older
"camel hump" style that had been used since 1906.
The Models G, H, & L had a tubular front axle while the Model K had a drop forged I-Beam axle. Eisemann magnetos were used for ignition On the Model H and K. The Model L used a battery and coil jump spark system with an option of either the Eisemann Magneto ($100) or a Remy Magneto ($50). Identification: Model K: rounded rear fenders, drop forged front axle, transverse rear spring Model L: flat rear fenders, tubular front axle, 1/2 elliptical springs all around Model H: rear fenders that flip up in the rear.
