Welcome to Manitoba! The Findlays and John Nicol were exited to see these words as they signalled an end to Canada's largest province and an entrance to the Canadian prairies.

This morning began with a photo stop alongside the Lake of the Woods. Kenora's mascot, Husky the Muskie, is a 13 metre high symbol of great Kenora fishing. Along the highway around Kenora, the travellers noticed many curious piles of stones mounted like small monuments on the rocky cliffs beside the road. Perhaps someone can email an explanation of these small rock sculptures.

After a one hour drive, the Reo came to the Ontario / Manitoba border. The findlays, John Nicol, and the Reo received a warm welcome at the Manitoba tourist info centre. Along the way in both Ontario and Manitoba, many beaver dams and lodges were spotted.

As the afternoon wound down, the Reo was making its way through flat prairie farmland. The approach to Winnipeg was a preview of the vast lands that lay ahead. Unfortunately, plans in Winnipeg made it impossible for the Reo to stop in Selkirk as indicated in the itinerary. The Findlays apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

It was another interesting day as the Reo left Ontario after two weeks in Canada's largest province.
