Day 3 of the 1997 Cross-Canada Tour was the longest day yet. The morning was spent travelling the back roads between Moncton and St. John. The Reo was escorted out of Moncton by members of the New Brunswick Antique Auto Club.

The country roads provided a perfect backdrop as the antique Reo made its way westward. Beautiful old farmhouses and barns dotted the countryside amid fields of hay, corn, and other crops. The traffic was light and the Reo was able to make good time. One minor problem was noticed - a cracked bracket on the windshield frame. This would have to be looked at later. For now, bungy cords and duct tape would suffice.

At 12:30 the Reo pulled into the Speedy Auto Center at historic Saint John. This city is Canada's oldest, as it was the first to be granted a royal charter from England in 1785. It is also the Canadian city that covers the most area. While in Saint John, the Reo's cracked windshield bracket was repaired by Larry's Welding.

As the Reo left Saint John, the travellers passed by the famous "Reversing Falls," another of the fascinating wonders that abound in the Bay of Fundy region.

The afternoon's drive turned northward through hilly country to Fredericton, the capital city of New Brunswick. Once again, the Reo was escorted into town by local members of the New Brunswick Antique Auto Club. It had been a long, but successful day.
